Mens Guide on How to Dress for a Job Interview
Men's Guide on How to Dress for a Job Interview http://www.realmenrealstyle.com Another thing to keep in mind when opting for dress shirts is size. Ask yourself, how well does the dress shirt fit? You want to make sure your dress shirt is not too loose or tight, everything has to be just right. In terms of what color dress shirt to wear, its absolutely up to you but in my opinion, you should always go with your favorite color.Who knows? Maybe your favorite color is your employers as well. 2. Tie Wearing a tie can earn you respect in the long run and bring a sense of professionalism to ones individual aura. Although it may be arduous selecting the right tie to wear or which method to tie your tie, be sure to stay on top of your game. Regular Tie vs. Skinny Tie Depending on what type of job you are applying for, it may be suitable for you to wear a skinny tie. Skinny ties may be popular in fashion but you arent going to a catwalk, you are going to a job interview. Theres a fine line between looking good and feeling good and its best not to cross that boundary. It is recommended to wear a regular tie at all times because it gives off a more professional look. For job interviews, you should stick with diagonal stripes, solids or minute patterned ties. Does Color Matter? Depending on the type of color tie you wear, you can hint to your employer what kind of personality you have. Red: A dominant color that symbolizes wealth, passion and victory. If you are going to wear a red tie for your job interview, be sure to express your overwhelming determination. Blue: A serene color that symbolizes peace and persistence. If you are going to wear a blue tie for your job interview, be ready to express that you are a hardworking individual. http://www.jobkaster.com Yellow: A radiant color that symbolizes exuberance and creativity. Selecting pants isnt as important as dress shirt and tie because employers only pay attention to what Im wearing on top. The answer is false. If youre going to dress up for a job interview, you want to make sure you are presentable on both top and bottom. The recommended color of pants for a job interview is usually black. http://www.wellbuiltstyle.com Depending on the type of clothes you are wearing (shirt tie), it can be appropriate to wear khakis in order to match the attire accordingly. Always make sure to wear fitted pants; they shouldnt be tight, but rather trim. Well, how can I tell if these pants are too tight for me? According to WB Style, the pockets and the front of the pants should lay flat. Dont: Wear shorts. Wear wrinkled pants. Wear dress pants that dont match the color of your suit. 4. Suit Wearing a suit isnt mandatory but if you are applying for a higher-up position, you should definitely consider it. One thing to keep in mind is that no suit will truly fit you unless you get it personally tailored. Measurements can be everything, even to the slightest inch. You want to make sure everything fits just right. http://www.wellbuiltstyle.com In totality, the suit represents refinement, authority, practicality and class. As stated by Well Built Style, For young men, it represents a transition from adolescence to manhood; for grown men, it solidifies his place in society. Despite the fact that it may cost a little extra out of your pocket for a good quality suit, the investment will definitely be worthwhile. Also if you choose to wear a suit, it should be a solid, dark color such as black, navy or dark grey. 5. Shoes By looking at someones shoes, you can tell an awful lot about an individual and what type of personality that person has. You should consider wearing leather lace-up or slip-on dress shoes. If you are trying to figure out what color to wear, you should go with black, brown or cordovan. Socks Wear solid color socks (preferably black). Wear socks that match your trousers. Dont wear socks that are too flashy in terms of patterned design. Wear socks that dont expose your bare skin. Last Minute Tips: If youre grabbing a quick snack right before an interview, make sure not to stain your pants. For those who accidentally stain their pants, make sure to you use this on the go! Dont forget to wear your favorite cologne! Pop a mint in your mouth for good luck! Always keep it 100 when going into an interview. Lastly, believe in yourself because everyone else believes in you. What Is A Holistic Admissions Process - by TutorNerds
What Is A Holistic Admissions Process - by TutorNerds Tips from an Irvine Admissions Consultant: What Is A Holistic Admissions Process? Tips from an Irvine Admissions Consultant: What Is A Holistic Admissions Process? Many colleges and universities advertise a holistic admissions process, but most students are unfamiliar with the term. In a time when test scores and a 4.0+ GPA is emphasized left and right, it seems like there isnt anything else that colleges look at. A holistic admissions process means that the college will look at the whole student. Students who have excellent test scores and a high GPA but have zero extracurricular activities may be at a disadvantage. However, students who are counting on those extracurriculars to help them get into college will do well to apply to at least a couple of holistic universities. So what exactly is the âwholeâ student? 1. Extracurricular and volunteer experience One of the things colleges want to know about a potential student is what they did outside of school. Although it can seem like the hours between 7:30 and 3:00 just never end colleges want to know what happens from 3 p.m. on. They may see one student who filled all of their required community service hours but demonstrated through their application that they werent interested in any of their community activities, and they might see another student who focuses in on using one of their passions or skills to truly make a difference in otherâs lives. Colleges will also look at a students hobbies or passions. If a student loves to draw universities will want to hear about or see that studentâs art portfolio, if they were heavily involved in beach cleanup throughout high school, theyâll want to hear about the studentâs passion for a clean ocean. Hobbies donât have to be related to a studentâs intended major, in fact varying interest makes for a well rounded individual (READ: 6 Ways to Ace that Job Search). 2. Personal circumstances Holistic universities will also look at a students individual circumstances. Perhaps a student had a passion for cleaning up the ocean but didnt have time to participate in this activity because they worked 15 hours a week to help their family. Some students may have only had access to the Internet at school or the library and may not have had as much time to study as their peers. Students who spend their afternoons working are encouraged to mention that as earning money is an admirable way to spend free time. 3. A member of the community Colleges with a holistic admissions process will also look at who will make a good member of their particular community. This is a tough one to explain because what a college is looking for in 2015 may be different than what they were looking for in 2010 or 2005. Students will often take it personally if they feel they have been rejected for this reason, however, each college will be looking for different students to add to their overall community. The same student might be a perfect fit for one college but not a fantastic fit for another. Why colleges choose one particular student over another is anyones guess (READ: 5 Things to do Before You Go Away to College). 4. Individuality Another thing universities will look for is the individuality of to their student body. Many students go to college so they can learn about new people and experience something different than high school. Other students will quickly specialize in a particular field that may attract similarly minded people. For the most part, colleges will look for some type of individuality or originality in order to provide a diverse campus for their students. This is one of the many reasons why a students personal statement should express such originality. 5. Test scores and GPA Yes, a well-rounded student will also have to focus on test scores and GPA. A holistic admissions process doesnât excuse students from achieving the recommended grades and test scores for a particular university; it simply means that these arenât the only things the university looks at. In fact, many colleges look at test scores and grades first and foremost. Its still paramount that students achieve the scores they need to at least meet the requirements of the âaverageâ student at the university they apply to if they want to have a high chance of admission. What options does a student have after GCSE`s - Tutor Hunt Blog
What options does a student have after GCSE`s What options does a student have after GCSE`s What options does a student have after GCSE`sSecondary SchoolsIn many ways GCSE`s mark a frontier in in an adolescent`s life. Discounting the possibility of any earlier, precociously acquired accolades, the marks achieved in these exams will probably be the first academic qualifications that could potentially appear on their CV. In many students` minds their GCSE grades will be the first results that really matter. They will have taken many tests before, indeed they will have been regularly graded and assessed for most of their time at school - but by the time of their GCSE`s they will be mature enough to know just how important these exams are. The transition from GCSE to 6th form means the beginning of specialisation, a reduction of the number of subjects being studied. Most students will take 9 subjects for GCSE, but after this the academic range will narrow. Three subjects are the norm for a post GCSE student - their strengths and weaknesses will have been established, and they may well have an idea as to what they would like to study at university. Even though A-levels may be seen the expected route to take after GCSE`s, there are a number of alternatives that may be more suitable. The three main options, apart from entering the workplace directly of course, are NVQs, BTECs, and traineeships. NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualifications, and they are work based certificates, which means they are specifically designed to help students gain `competency` in the workplace. One key feature of this qualification is that they do not have to be completed within a specific time frame. Because of this accommodating feature many students work on completing their NVQs while undertaking a part time job or a work placement. Many employers look favourably upon students undertaking NVQ`s, as it shows commitment and dedication to their chosen career. BTEC stand for a `Business and Technology Education Council` qualification - they were introduced to the UK back in the 1930`s, and continue to be very popular. It is largely a coursework based assessment, and because of this many universities stipulate that students must also posses at least a single A-Level to gain admittance. From 2016 the proportion of coursework in the BTEC course has reduced, and exams now account for a larger proportion of the final grade. Like NVQ`s, BTEC`s are designed to be specialist work-related qualifications - and as such they specifically cater to a whole range of different sectors, such as engineering, business, and ICT. The courses are available at a number of different levels - ranging from the Entry Level Skills for Working Life, through to professional qualifications of Level 7, which is actually equivalent to postgraduate study. Because BTEC`s are tailored to the workplace, and correspond to the myriad of different professions, there are an astonishing number of unique courses - well over 2000 different BTECs, each catering to a different workplace skill. Another post GCSE option is a traineeship. These are short courses which include work experience, and are designed to get a student ready for work or an apprenticeship. They last up to 6 months, and are primarily aimed at those who are qualified below Level 3, aged 16 to 24, along with those who are unemployed and have little or no work experience. Most students who have chosen to continue studying into sixth form will already have decided upon the course they want to take. It can daunting indeed to be faced with such important choices as such a young age. I have often thought that it`s rather unfair that adolescents, barely into their teenage years, are compelled to make these life defining decisions. Looking back on my own career, I can see now how it was profoundly shaped and defined by the subjects I chose to study in my mid to late teens. Career advisors can certainly help - and of course the options available to the student will be constrained by their academic abilities. Ultimately though it will be up to the student which path they choose. 18 months ago0Add a Comment

Calculus Word Problems
Calculus Word Problems Calculus word problems are used to solve the word problems. This tool converts the word problem into equations and then with the help of the relevant calculus formula, it solves the final equation. This tool is so efficient that the conversion and solving process goes almost simultaneously, means the time consume is very less in getting the result. This can be better clarified by taking individual examples of differentiation and integration. The examples are as shown below:- Example 1:- Find the velocity in cm/s if the small displacement is given by 5 cm in time duration of 10 s. Solution 1:- Given small displacement = 5 cm. Let us assume that the small displacement is denoted by dx Therefore from above, dx = 5 cm Also, it is given that this displacement is covered in time duration of 10 s. This time duration is also very small just 10 s. So we can consider this time as a very small time period, so we can denote it by dt. Therefore from above, dt = 10 s. Now we know that the velocity is the ratio of displacement travelled to the total time taken. And let v is the velocity of an object V = dx / dt = 5/10 = = 0.5 cm. Hence , the velocity of an object is 0.5cm Example 2:- Find the velocity in cm/s if the small displacement is given by 20 m in time duration of 5 s. Solution 2:- Given small displacement = 20 cm. Let us assume that the small displacement is denoted by dx Therefore from above,dx = 20 cm Also, it is given that this displacement is covered in time duration of5 s. This time duration is also very small just 10 s. So we can consider this time as a very small time period, so we can denote it by dt. Therefore from above, dt = 5 s. Now we know that the velocity is the ratio of displacement travelled to the total time taken. And let v is the velocity of an object V = dx/dt = 20/5 = 4 = 4 cm/s Hence the velocity of an object is 4cm/ s.
Exercises for Practicing Guitar Chords
Exercises for Practicing Guitar Chords Shanika There are several ways to master the technique of changing chords, so letâs look at a couple of exercises using basic guitar chords. The basic guitar chords are C, D, Dm, E, Em, F, G, A, and Am. Some instructors add C7, D7, E7, G7, A7 and B7. The F chord is always the most difficult for the beginning guitar player because you hold two strings down with one finger. Ideally, you want your basic guitar chords to sound clean and crisp â" no muffled strings. Keep practicing the individual chords until you feel confident youâve got them down. Your next goal is to make a fluid transition from one chord to another; start slow and pick up speed at your own rate of learning. This is where a metronome can be very helpful. Youâll start with very slow transitions, then increase the beat and your speed. Playing with drum tracks is another option. Donât worry too much about strumming at this stage. Use one down strum on each chord and increase your speed as you are able. Practicing chord-changing within a song is one of the best exercises you can do. But you can also start by pairing a basic chord with another basic chord. Try switching back and forth between G and all the other basic chords, like this: G C G Dm G Em G F G Am G Bm G D G A G E Keep practicing until you are easily transitioning from G to the other chords, then repeat the exercise using C, D, Dm, E, Em, A, Am and F. You can even make a game for yourself: Make basic guitar chord flash cards and select two at random. Make that selection your dayâs practice exercise. 20 minutes per day is a good target time. Itâs normal to hit a wall with one particular transition. Keep working and changing between those two chords and soon it will be effortless. This is a good example of how effort and consistency will take you beyond the range of more talented guitar players. Youâll be the person they wish they were âas good asâ¦â About.com has some great articles and exercises for working on guitar chords. The following is their suggestion for improving your picking accuracy, finger strength and fretting speed: Exercise 1 Put your first finger on the fifth fret of the 1st string. Downstroke. Put your second finger on the sixth fret of the 2nd string and upstroke. Exercise 2 Put your first finger on the fifth fret of the 1st string. Downstroke. Then place your second finger on the sixth fret of the 3rd string and upstroke. Exercise 3 Youâre going to repeat Exercise 2 using the same fingers on the same frets, but this time upstroke and downstroke the on the 1st and 4th strings. Exercise 4 Repeat Exercise 3 using the 1st and 5th strings. Your goal is to play all the notes evenly and at the same volume. Start slowly and build speed; if youâre making too many mistakes, slow it back down and try again. If youre feeling ready to try a song, hereâs one that uses only three chords: G, C, D. Itâs slow and smooth, and the transitions are easy. As you strum it, start slow. Then as you continue practicing, build up to Kenny Rogersâ pace. Finally, try this exercise. Its a major barre chord (a type of chord that has only fretted notes and can be moved up or down the guitar neck) warm-up. Play the first measure of 5/4. The progression repeats one fret (or one half-step) higher than the starting chord. This upward move changes the letter name of the chords in the second and subsequent measures, but you are using the same chord forms as in measure 1. Photo by whologwhy Interested in Private Lessons?
